![]() ![]() This allows for the team to make much more mistakes and still be able to clear. The scythe team can drastically lower time spent in each room and lower supply usage. The difference between a 3 man team with abyssal tentacles and a 3 man team with scythes is massive. One good example is bringing up regular TOB. Higher DPS = less time spent being damaged = less use of resources = higher chance of completion of late game content. The thing is, often these very coordinated teams or great/perfect players don't want to play with a guy with rag items because it slows them down. Being under-geared requires near perfection in some cases, or a very coordinated team. ![]() Sure, it might not be required if everyone consistently plays perfectly - but endgame gear allows you to make more mistakes and still complete the content. And all that because of the 'tbow no longer 1b' crybabies.īIS is needed for combat achievement speedruns and defines whether they are possible or not - or at least makes them multiple times easier or likelier to happen.īIS is extremely useful for end-game content such as hardmode TOB. But it sure does help those that casually play this game and where waiting a long time for bis prices to drop to finally be able to afford them. Point being: you technically don't need any particular gear to complete anything in this game, look at all the lowest cb lvl fire cape attempts. But at the end of the day you are ruining the prospect of lesser players, who don't quite have the edge to do late game content in rag gear, to finally afford that one crucial upgrade that allowed them to complete inferno, finish a tob or cox without being a weight on the team. Sure you all would like that your bank filled with BIS gear is valued hinger on the long term. Sure, BIS is a nice luxury to have for sweatlords playing this game 8h a day. Basically every beginners guide tells you that unless you are really good at the game you shoudn't even attempt it without one. I would like you to try and explain how a tbow is comparable to rag gear in inferno. Even if people still want to swap around their bank, they'll benefit from their tbow drop being worth more etc. I completely agree though, I don't see how the tax will have net negative effects on anyone. ![]() In my own opinion (and everyone differs) the satisfaction of buying something to keep it is a much truer triumph. But then instead of earning bank and buying stuff you've never used before, you're just buying something so that you don't have to sell it again in the future. If you really want to (And you will still be able to post tax whether just copping a few mil or trading with friends) you can. My argument is that you shouldn't expect to always have bis for end game content when you can barely afford it. If you got a bit more, you probably have most of what you want, but might need to trade a little to get the final pieces for your content. If you only have 10 mil, you're probably not trading around much anyway. I definintely understand that edging out your potential is fun, especially in such a grindy game like osrs. a tax might make you want to keep what you buy for the long haul seconds here and there not breaking recoils and pulling new ones from bank. that granted me about 5400 food by using a different ring. i paid 27m when i bought my suffering 2700 kc+ later still rocking the same ring. sure recoils are cheaper but if the suffering saves charges by negating hits with higher defensive stats that could potentially allow me to attack more times before needing to recover. a good example is the ring of suffering vs using recoils. ![]() only if I think the difference will be greater by using that upgrade. fast-forward to now sense i know the fight very well id 100% splurge on gear that will shave seconds off. I think what it really comes down to is once people learn the content they are more comfortable taking risks (using more of a glass cannon build) when I first started doing Zulrah years ago it was like 3 min kills which to me felt awesome that i was able to take it down.
